Education
I was born in Dublin Ireland in 1950 and completed my primary and secondary schooling there.
Business Career and Professional Development - Major Stages
1969: I commenced my working life with an American computer company called Technicon Limited as an Assistant Accountant and I stayed with them for three years, leaving in 1972 to embark on a one year working holiday to Australia and Canada.
1972: Shortly after my arrival in Australia I took a position with a company called "The Victory Reinsurance Company of Australia Limited" with the responsibility for Life Technical Accounts. During my intended "short duration" employment with Victory I met my wife Bronwyn, this signaled the end of my holiday and the commencement of a long career in reinsurance.
I completed my accounting qualification here in Sydney and then undertook a different range of responsibilities within Victory, which included statistical and management reporting, client administration management, systems development and life underwriting and claims management responsibilities.
Present: My current position within Hannover Life Re is General Manager (Marketing), which also encompasses the responsibility for client administration, underwriting and claims functions of the Company.
Hobbies and Sports
I am very passionate about my golf and play as often as possible. (My wife describes herself as a golf widow). In addition I am also a keen trout fisherman and when time permits I like to read.
