Regine KielichI was born 1955 and grew up in Uelzen, a little town in Lower Saxony. EducationFor my studies, I moved to Clausthal, an even smaller town of 12 000 inhabitants of which 3000 were students, where I studied mathematics and as a minor subject economy. The most interesting and outstanding event that happened to me in Clausthal was meeting my husband. Business Career and Professional Development - Major Stages1981: Cologne Re, Life and Health department. In those days I still did not have the faintest idea what reinsurers actually do. However to this day, I have never regretted going into reinsurance business. 1985: After a couple of years, my husband was transferred to Hamburg. At first, we both tried commuting between Cologne and Hamburg. However, as the distance between the two towns is quite considerable, I changed mid-1985 to the Life and Health department of Hamburg International Re (HIR). 1990: HIR annulled their active reinsurance business. The Life portfolio and many of the employees were taken over by Hannover Re. I have worked in several different areas within Hannover Re itself. Whilst I used to work in a life reinsurance market department, I now run one of the 2 service departments. My areas of responsibility include the placement of retrocession, as well as portfolio analysis and risk management. Hobbies and sportsReading, baking, lazing-about, tennis and dancing |
