Business Career and Professional Development – major stages

1988: I started my career as a trainee accountant in the Audit Department of Touche Ross, London.  I began gaining exposure to the insurance industry through clients that included leading companies in the financial services sector.

1992: I made my first move into the insurance industry by joining Swinton Insurance Brokers in Manchester (a subsidiary of Sun Alliance) and was extensively involved in the project to establish the Company’s capability to write general insurance products in-house for the first time.

1995: My husband and I moved to Stockholm, Sweden in 1995 and I joined Procter and Gamble as Internal Audit Manager for Scandinavia.

1998: We moved to Dublin at the time the IFSC (International Financial Services Centre) was growing very rapidly.  This presented a good opportunity to get back into the (re)insurance industry and I joined London Life and General Reinsurance Company (part of London Reinsurance Group) as CFO.

2004: I joined Hannover Life Reassurance (Ireland) Limited in 2004 in the role of CFO.  In 2006 I was appointed COO before becoming Managing Director in July 2007. With an “A” rating from A.M. Best and a highly skilled team, we are able to leverage the benefits of Irish domicile to support Hannover Life Re clients on a worldwide basis.

Hobbies and Sports:

Having 2 boys keeps me busy and helps steer my interests towards football, tennis and hiking in the Mourne Mountains.
