Degree in Mathematics and History, university of Cologne.
Business Career and professional Development
1989: I joined Hannover Re to work as an actuarial treaty underwriter in one of the Life Departments dealing especially with clients from English speaking markets.
1992: The substantial growth of Hannover Re's activities in life reinsurance since the early 90's also led to new organizational structures, and so I took the challenge to join the newly founded Medical Underwriting Department. Although this was a major change compared to the previous specialized actuarial work, I was attracted by the complex mixture of medicine, statistics, involvement in product development and contacts with a growing global network of clients as well as branch offices.
2003: I decided to go back to the roots and took up an offer to head one of the market departments within Hannover Life Re Germany.
2004: I was promoted to Associate Director. Today, I am responsible for a couple of Western European markets (Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria), Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS states as well as for the cooperation with our branch office in Stockholm.
Hobbies and Sports
In my spare time, I like to listen to my CD collection and to read good fiction as well as any book about the Antarctic continent that I can get hold of. In addition, I am very much interested in movies and a proud owner of a high-end home cinema system. Especially during springtime and summer, I enjoy doing gardening and going on bike tours with my family in the surroundings of Hannover.
