Hannover Life Re is one of Australasia's largest writers of group life reinsurances, providing death and disablement protection for more than half a million people throughout Australia and New Zealand, through corporate superannuation funds, master trusts and industry funds.

As specialist risk carriers we are not involved in the administration of superannuation funds, nor are we involved in the investment of superannuation fund assets.

Our expertise is in the area of protecting superannuation funds against claims caused by the untimely death or disablement of their members, with products ranging from relatively simple group life covers through to more specialised stop-loss insurances.

For small to medium sized funds we offer the protection of Hannover Life Re's own group life pool. For larger funds, self-experience profit sharing terms are available to allow trustees to participate directly in the profits arising from their own group. For those funds large enough to self insure we offer tailor-made stop-loss covers to protect the funds from excessive fluctuations in claims experience.

In our role as provider of specialist services to superannuation fund trustees we are also a key provider of independent advice to trustees in the areas of fee for service medical underwriting and disablement claims assessment.

For international corporations wishing to take advantage of multinational pooling, we offer a local gateway into the prestigious Swiss Life pool, for which we have been the Australasian network partner since 1996.
