The special annuitiy unit in Hannover, also named Life annuity and corporate actuarial (LA) serves the United Kingdom directly from its home office in Hannover, Germany. LA is the leading reassurer of enhanced annuity products in the United Kingdom. We expect the enhanced annuity market to grow significantly in the years to come, both in volume and in complexity. In order to maintain the high quality of our reassurance solutions the team in Hannover follows a very focused approach.
LA concentrates on all variants of non-standard annuities such as enhanced and impaired life annuities or immediate needs products. We use medical, socio-economic, and lifestyle factors for our special annuities and have build up special expertise in pricing, underwriting, and product development that enables us to implement custom-made reassurance solutions for our special annuity clients.
Our team also concentrates on the underwriting processes that enable direct offices to integrate their quotation process with Hannover Life Re’s underwriting process thereby offering enhanced annuity products with enhanced underwriting processes. To achieve this, we closely co-operate with our medical underwriters who provide computer based underwriting support.
We have the expertise and - with a Standard and Poor’s rating of AA- “Very Strong” and A “Excellent” rating from A.M. Best - we have the financial strength to manufacture financial reassurance solutions that make optimal use of our customers' capital.
