Hannover Life Re Germany, E+S Rück

E+S Rück, as a member of the fourth-largest reinsurance group of the world, belongs to the leading reinsurers of the German market with gross premiums in Life of ca. EUR 544 Mio. in the year 2006. We owe our leading role in the German market to our expertise in financial reinsurance. Especially in respect of Unit Linked Life Insurance we have supported our clients in order to enable them to take advantage of the opportunities the market had to offer. Furthermore, our initiative not only applies to classical risk protections but even more so to innovative primary insurance solutions that will assist our clients in developing new markets.

Our special focus is currently directed at the insurance market for senior citizens in Germany, which has been given little attention in the past. People of 60 and above represent the only population group that will experience growth in the future. Furthermore, senior citizens in Germany are in possession of the largest part of private assets held in German households. The specific needs of senior citizens are only marginally reflected in insurance products available in the market. We expect this market to undergo substantial growth in the years to come - our goal is to become the leading reassurer in this market.

The activities of the life department of E+S Rück are affiliated to Hannover Life Re, since 1999 the brand name for worldwide activities of the Hannover Re Group in the Life and Health business. E+S Rück profits from the assembled knowledge of a network of 18 international offices of Hannover Life Re -  Expertise that we can exploit to the advantage of our clients.
